The training brought together participants from Rwanda, Kenya, and Madagascar, providing them with practical skills in digital communication, digital campaigning, supporter engagement, social media organizing, and online fundraising.
Day 1-2: The first day focused on the internet as a communication space, digital campaigning, supporter engagement, and effective campaign strategies. Participants also explored the use of email as a powerful tool for communication, mobilization, and fundraising.
Day 2: The training focused on fundraising essentials, donor care, and effective fundraising planning. Participants learned that successful fundraising depends largely on building genuine relationships with supporters, captured in the key message, “Fundraising is friend raising.” The sessions also covered TikTok mastery and personal branding, highlighting how digital platforms can be used to reach and engage broader audiences.
On the final day, the training focused on WhatsApp organizing, building supporter networks, and action planning. Participants developed practical strategies for attracting and engaging followers, supporters, volunteers, and donors. The training concluded with group presentations, feedback, and an evaluation session to assess the knowledge gained and explore how participants could apply the lessons within their respective organizations.
During the closing ceremony, participants expressed their appreciation to the organizers and trainers for their commitment and support throughout the programme. As a gesture of gratitude, the KEPHRA team presented commemorative T-shirts to the trainers and organizers. Special gifts were also presented to Frank, Vesna, and Philippe in recognition of their valuable contributions and support to the success of the training.
